It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...

Today was a wonderful day, and not just because it was my birthday. Well, maybe that had SOMETHING to do with it but not totally. The boys were pleasant, the weather was GORGEOUS, and we got to go to exciting places!

We started the day off going to lunch at Ruby Tuesday. Did you know they have an extreme salad bar? The honking' thing is ice cold. It shoots almost freezing air from the bottom and the top onto these beautiful metal containers that make their salad bar look like a piece of art. Oh, and if you get there about when they open, no one else has touched the stuff so it's especially pretty. Then we went to the local Dairy Queen to pick up the hilarious ice cream cake that Daddy Mc ordered. Of course, this family being the nuts that we are love Daffy Duck and all of his slobbery, lisp-filled expressions. So, Daddy Mc decided he would put Daffy's face on the cake and a big "Thirty Four?!?!" across the top. When he got into the car, he had to do the voice to express how it should actually sound if Daffy were speaking what was on the cake. Such a Mr. Smarty Pants!

Then after a brief pit stop back at home we ventured to the zoo. This happens to be one of Mommy Mc's most favorite places and I always love going to the zoo in any place I visit. (Must be the wanna-be Veterinarian in me.) The boys wanted to show Daddy Mc the Lorikeets and have him feed them. We had been there several times to do it, but never with Daddy Mc along. Then a brief encounter with a carousel, and off to the next destination!

Another brief pit stop at home to pick up Daddy Mc's car, and off to the car wash. Daddy hates his car to look like poo, so we stopped off to get it sparkling clean and off to Dave & Buster's for some video games and dinner. The boys loved playing the games. Tater would start playing one and then run off in the middle to play another one leaving me to finish up all of his games. Luckily Daddy and I were able to tag team them so we didn't have anyone missing ever. Which is always a good thing! We soon discovered the ticket system and put all of our focus on getting more tickets. We had about 3500 by the time we left, which meant we got to buy the BIG stuff. I seem to remember their gift section being much better the last time we went because we only walked out of there with a plush monkey, a large dodgeball type ball, and some candy. We still have about 1500 points to spend, but I'm saving those for something really nice like a BIG plush monkey!

Anywho, after the "shopping spree" we headed home and dug into the Daffy cake. All I gotta say is, thank God that the ice cream is low-fat. I could probably eat the entire cake by myself in a matter of days, it's just THAT good!

Speaking of good, what an excellent way to spend the celebration of another excellent year. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful family. My cup is full!
